Borough Council, Saunders Market and Hemel Hempstead BID are launching a new joint campaign called ‘Hemel Together’ to install signage and provide support to businesses across the town centre from Monday 15th of June.

As part of the town’s reopening strategy, hand sanitiser stations will be installed in the Marlowes Shopping Centre and Riverside Shopping Centre. In addition, lamp post signage, followed by floor signage will be installed across the town centre.

Guidance to ‘keep right’ will aim to ensure that social distancing measures are adhered to and guide the health and safety of the general public and its business community.

Generic signage will also be provided to independent businesses under the ‘Hemel Together’ brand.

Hemel Hempstead BID Manager, Naomi Watkins said:

"The BID and key stakeholders in the town have been working together to reopen our businesses as safely as possible. We are looking forward to welcoming back our shops and visitors, and we encourage everyone to keep social distancing at the forefront of their minds when they are in the town centre. Hemel has a strong
community spirit, which is why we have launched our 'Hemel Together' campaign with Dacorum Borough Council, both shopping centres, Saunders Market and local businesses.

We are implementing a one-way pedestrian system through the town to 'keep right'. This is to help our visitors keep their distance as they travel around the town. We ask that visitors are mindful when they join queues as to whether there is sufficient space.’

The general public are advised not to visit the town centre if they feel unwell.
